Although, it may almost be officially fall (and I’m sure you are just as excited to pull out your sweaters as I am), in reality it’s eighty degrees where I live, and there’s no way I could walk around in a thick knit. So I’m still searching for pieces that I can wear when it’s too hot for fall clothes.
I came across this dress the other day in a local boutique, and to be honest, I didn’t fall in love with it immediately. With all the ruffles and details, it’s kind of hard to see it come to life on a hanger. Though as soon as I tried it on, I was head over heels! This summer I have been all about the off the shoulder trend, and I’m definitely not ready to let go of it! That’s why i was so excited to see the off the shoulder ruffle on this dress! I love how fun and feminine ruffles look, and they make the simplest dress look special! I’m quite petite, and I often find that a lot of dresses make me look like I’m drowning in fabric. That’s why I adore the bow at the waist, which allows you to synch in the dress, defining your waist. As if I didn’t have enough good things to say, the blue and white stripes are such a classic pattern and I love how they look on this dress!
I styled the dress with a pair of white Kendra Scott drop earrings, because I wanted to dress up my look. I thought they completed my outfit perfectly and I get compliments every time I wear them. For my necklace, I kept it simple with a gold bar. It’s the perfect size for off the shoulder pieces, so your chest doesn’t look bare but doesn’t draw away from your dress. I love the customization of them which allows you to wear something uniquely special. Mine says “beloved” because I wanted a daily reminder that no matter what others or I think about myself, I will always be God’s beloved. Finally, I wore my favorite Steve Madden sandals. They’ve been my go-to sandals for over a year, and they definitely will not be leaving my wardrobe anytime soon!
