My Skincare Favorites

Summer is finally in full swing! With it being July the weather is only getting hotter and I decided it was time to reevaluate my skincare products. Swapping out a product in your skincare can make a huge difference in the overall appearance and feel of your skin! I personally have dry and sensitive skin, so I really have to pay attention to what products I use otherwise I breakout. I want to share some of my personal favorites, and what steps I’ve noticed to make a huge difference in my skin!!

Fresh soy face cleanser-
My aunt gave my mom this cleanser for her birthday, and I may or may not have stolen it from her cupboard, but let me tell you guys this is probably my favorite product in this entire post!! For the longest times I’d use makeup wipes to take off my makeup, but all of the rubbing and weird chemicals started to take a toll on my skin. I had been looking for a product that was a two in one makeup remover and cleanser for the longest time, but all the ones I saw were either oily or like a balm, and I didn’t like that. This cleanser is so light and I don’t feel like I have anything stuck on my face afterwards. It does an amazing job at removing even my toughest concealers and mascara! If you’re looking for a makeup remover and cleanser, then definitely give this one a go!!

Soley GLÓey purifying exfoliator-
I used to never use an exfoliator, thinking it wouldn’t make a difference in my skin, but once I started using this one I noticed a big difference!! I discovered the brand last summer on the way home from Iceland and I love how all of Soley’s skincare is natural and Organic! Exfoliators help to remove the barrier of dead skin cells on your skin and uncover fresh new cells. It opens up your pores to allow your moisturizing products to penetrate deeper into your skin. I often get milia around my eyes which are little white dots that are formed by a build up of dead skin cells that get trapped underneath your skin, so using a good exfoliator helps prevent them from forming. I love the refreshing minty smell of this exfoliator and how clean my skin feels afterwards!!

Clarins instant light lip comfort oil-
I first discovered this lip balm last summer after hearing a blogger rave about it. I happened to come a cross it in a duty free, and decided to try it, as my lips were super dry from the long flight. Ever since I’ve been in love with it! When they say lip comfort oil, they truly mean it! As soon as you put it on you feel, well comforted. It’s similar to a gloss but very thick which makes it wonderful for putting on at night! When you wake up your chapped lips will be a thing of the past! Clarins has also recently released this lip balm in tinted versions, although I’ve yet to try the tinted ones I bet they’re gorgeous also!

Mario Badescu oil free moisturizer SPF 30-
I’m not about having 3 different moisturizers for different times of the day, so finding one that was truly perfect at anytime of the day was important to me! This moisturizer is super lightweight which makes it great for hot summer days! It looks wonderful under makeup yet it’s also moisturizing enough to work great as a nightly moisturizer! This is my second time repurchasing this moisturizer which says a lot! My favorite thing about this moisturizer is that it has spf 30! Which means I no longer have to sacrifice my sunscreen to avoid a breakout! I’ve used this at the beach and lake and didn’t burn one bit! This is truly the most versatile moisturizer I’ve ever used!!

ROC eye cream-
I have awful dark circles, and for the longest time no matter how hard I tried, I often found myself a victim of the raccoon eye. So when a dermatologist first recommended this cream to me I was a little skeptical. After using it consistently for a couple weeks, I’ve noticed major improvements! Not only does it tame my dark circles but helps get rid of my milia. Retinoid creams are wonderful for unclogging pores, boosting collagen to reduce fine lines, and speeding up cell turnover to even out discoloration and smooth the skin!

Mario Badescu drying lotion-
Let me just say if you haven’t tried out Mario Badescu’s acne products, you’re missing out! I adore their products in general but this drying cream is one of my favorites because of how strong it is. When I breakout I usually only have a few blemishes here and there and I want them gone fast. So I’ll put a drop of this on my blemish before I go to bed and when I wake up my skin is clear! I wouldn’t use this all over my face since it’s extremely drying, hence why it’s called a drying cream, but if you have a few blemishes then it’s great for you!

First Aid Beauty facial radiance pads-
My morning skincare routine has often times been overlooked. For a long time I just splashed my face with water and put on a moisturizer, and although I can still be a bit lazy in the mornings I’ve been trying to get myself to exfoliate in the mornings too. Not only do these radiance pads exfoliate, they tone and wakeup my skin. Leaving me with a dewy and bright complexion. If I’m not going to put on any makeup that day then these are a must have, so you still get the glow, without the highlighter! They’re also great for on the go when you feel like your skin needs a boost, and they’re super convenient since the toner is already penetrated in the pad.

Now that you know my favorite products, I’d love to hear about yours! What are your all time or current favorite skincare products, and are there any you think I should try?

  • Found the cutest black sweater and it's on sale! This morning I went to Church with a good friend and got brunch afterwards! I'm about to go take some blog photos and then hopefully do some meal prep for the week! I love meal prepping because it helps me have quick options to snack on and makes me more likely to eat in rather than be tempted to go out. Especially during Whole30 meal prep has been a life saver! What do you do on Sunday's to make your week easier? (Ps: remember you can now shop my Instagram on the blog!)
  • The cutest sweatshirt dress under $35!! Y'all today I finally finished (well almost) the new blog! After being tired of the way my blog looked I decided to give it a makeover! Now you can shop my Instagram including this dress! So go take a look, and tell me what y'all think!
  • Hands up for snow days!! Yesterday we got almost a foot of snow which is incredibly unusual for Raleigh! I've been curled up on the couch by our fireplace, watching Hulu and working on the blog! I need a good show to binge on Netflix or Hulu, what's your favorite? (Also the blog may or may not be getting a major facelift!)
  • I feel like I haven't gotten to introduce myself, I'm Sasha! I love Jesus and sharing the gospel. I really want to like reading but I don't unless I'm at the beach with a mojito, or reading my bible with a highlighter and pen. I love breakfast, and poached eggs are my go to at brunch! But my eyes are always bigger than my stomach and I probably change my order about five times because I'm so indecisive. I'm a perfectionist at heart, I try to do everything and I mean everything (high school, jewelry business, blog, youth group three times a week, and a job) until I'm exhausted. I love learning unless it's physics, then I'm just confused. But I love math and solving problems. I am constantly trying to prove myself to myself, and make it a game to see how much I can accomplish in a day. I am a creature of habit, I go to the same coffee shop at least three times a week and I've made friends with all the baristas lol. I'm an introverted extrovert and love talking (a lot)! I love traveling and dream of moving somewhere like London or New York. Oh and I'm a twin (it's so much fun)! Ps: this outfit is all linked in today's blog post, so go give it a read!
  • Finally got a pair of leopard loafers and I'm obsessed! They're so comfy and look amazing! Tomorrow we're supposed to get 3-5 inches of snow, it may not sound like much, but for NC that means school will be canceled for a few days! Super excited to curl up on the couch, watch KUWTK and drink some hot chocolate!😆 What are your favorite things to do on snow days?
  • Yesterday I did the first part of my driving for drivers ed, luckily he only had to use his brakes a couple of times🙈 Not sure how I feel about driving yet but I have another class later today. Do you guys like driving, or would you rather have your friend drive?
  • Happy Friday Eve! I'm so excited about the long weekend ahead! This week was my first full week back at school and it's been pretty hard adjusting back from having so much free time. But I'm also kinda loving it because I'm sort of in my element when I have a bunch of stuff to do, all about the #hustle lol! I wanted to share a few thoughts on our identity. So last week I applied to a style company for a space in their influencer community. And today I saw an email in my inbox and my stomach dropped to the floor. I had a hunch when I applied that I didn't have a very high chance to get in, but thought what's the worst thing that can happen, they say no and I move on and try again later down the road. But for some reason all afternoon there's been a weight on my chest and a voice in my head saying I'm not good enough! And holy moly, that's so far from the truth. You see our identity is in Jesus, who says we are enough! And at times it can be hard to remember when things you had such high hopes for fall through. I keep reminding myself of Genesis 1:27 and Isaiah 25:1. It's so easy to lose sight of what God has planned for your life by little moments that take away your attention from the big picture. Whatever challenge, rejection, or pain you're facing, Jesus is so much bigger than it and so is his plan for you! (Ps: this sweater is on major sale, linked on the blog)
  • Currently dreaming of being somewhere warm. I feel like once January roles around I'm done with winter and ready for spring dresses and cute sandals (anyone else?) But until then this fur vest is great to stay cozy in the winter weather! My favorite way to style it is, with a pair of jeans, riding boots, a white sweater and gold hoops!
  • I think I'm pretty late on the otk boot trend, but since I've got these I've been wearing them everywhere! These were the only shoes I wore on my trip to Paris and they were surprisingly comfortable for walking around Paris all day. I'm currently lusting over the Stuart Weitzman pair, but if you're not wanting to splurge these are the perfect option!
