I hope y’all are enjoying the long weekend as much as I am! This weekend I got to see and catch up with two dear friends. One of which I hadn’t seen in over a year! Friday afternoon she picked my sister and I up from school and we grabbed smoothies at a local juice shop. It was so sweet to hear her advice about high school and all about her freshman year in college! Her words really opened my eyes as I could relate to a lot of what she had gone through and I really value her wisdom and faith!
On Saturday I had a bunch of fun taking some blog photos for this week and I’m so excited for y’all to see them! Afterwards, I popped into Whole Foods to try out Nom Nom Paleo’s dishes at the hot bar. The cauliflower rice, Brussels sprouts and chicken tinga were all incredible, and almost all the dishes are Whole30 approved!
Today is the half way mark for my Whole30 and I’m extremely proud of myself for sticking to it. I honestly forget that I’m even on the Whole30 most of the time and love getting creative with my meals. This week I’ve noticed more cravings, but after looking at their forum days 12-14 are known as the ” I dream of junk food” days. Although I haven’t dreamt of junk food, I can definitely see why they’re called that.
This weekend I also finished Drivers Ed and am now able to get my permit. Although I prefer being in the passengers seat, I’m looking forward to be able to run to the grocery store to get something for a recipe without having to beg my parents (lol probably not what most 15 year olds care about).
On Sunday when I was driving on the highway for the first time, the student driver sign came loose and flew off the car. We heard a giant boom and both of us jumped. Naturally my instructor’s first reaction was, “what did you hit!” And of course I began to panic but realized I couldn’t have hit anything since there were no cars around me, and I was in the far right lane. When we finally got off onto an exit and pulled into a parking lot, he stepped out and sure enough the sign was gone. We switched seats and retraced our steps but didn’t find it. So to say the least driving was very eventful!
I want to hear about your weekend, and have any of you ever had something similar happen to you while you were driving?
